Rhythm Kids Level 2 is an exciting music, movement, and drumming class appropriate for children in Kindergarten through second grade (ages 5* through 8). Children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives, as they:
learn multicultural drumming patterns;
develop new repertoire on various percussion instruments;
explore movement and dance while singing songs;
play games based on music and drumming;
have fun with a host of solo and cooperative rhythm activities.
*5 year olds must either be graduates of Level 1 Rhythm Kids OR must have already started kindergarten by the first day of class. If your 5 year old has not started kinder yet - please enroll them in Level 1 Rhythm Kids (drop off is optional). We require a minimum 1 semester of RK - but most 5 year olds need 2 semesters of RK Level 1 OR minimum 6 months of kindergarten to enjoy (not feel frustrated) and to get the most out of Level 2 (this is a drop off class).
Rhythm Kids carries on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age 8. As part of the Rhythm Kids experience, children and their grownups can enjoy drumming play and practice sessions at home with the help of online play-along videos featuring Rhythm Kids creator Tom Foote. Classes are for children K–2 (ages 5 through 8) and include:
8 to 10 weekly, 45-minute classes
Songbook and CD/download each semester
Video tutorials and play-alongs
