Home Instrument Kits We Recommend for Music Together® & Rhythm Kids Classes
While we cannot meet and share instruments in big social groups like we have been able to in the past - we are encouraging parents to have musical instruments available at home for children to play while they sing, dance, play along and make their own music. For kiddos who remember instruments we used to usee in our studio classes, this is a wonderful point of re-connection. For children new to the program - they will notice that what they are playing with at home matches what their teacher is playing! Imitating teacher is one of those amazing signs of growth we love to see as children develop musically. Not only will the child notice they are using the same instruments as their teacher, but they will also notice that their instruments match what other friends in class are playing too! Older children, younger children - both are so exciting for a child to see - and it reinforces that what they are doing is conntected to be larger social network of music makers. This is another simple way we at tuneBugz! strive to create a greater sense of social connection through our online experiences. We want to make it as easy as possible for children to feel socially connected to their teachers, their friends and even their grandparents and cousins across the country! Here are 3 different ways to start building your own instrument set at home!
OPTION 1 - Purchase
Here are the instruments we use in our classes that you can purchase for home use while you are doing class online:
1 set wooden or red/green plastic rhythm sticks - 8 inches - one smooth/one rigid
1 set shaker eggs
2 wristlet jingle bells
1 scarf/play silk
1 set little plastic maracas, chiquitas or also called maraquitas
1 set A & D resonator bells w/2 mallets (for 2 and ups mostly - not for babies but parents will love playing them FOR their baby)
OPTION 2 - $15 Foster
Help us temporarily re-home our classroom instruments by signing up to be a foster family to a lonely set of our gently used (santized) instruments
There is a - $15 - non-refundable rehoming fee. Enjoy the set of instruments for the semester and return them to us at the end of semester in good condition. If items get lost or broken, we expect reasonable wear and tear but if an item is missing, we'd appreciate a similar quality replacement.
OPTION 3 - $45 Adopt
Include a gently used set from us with your registration for a $45 adoption fee - keep them forever.
Instruments sets should be purchased/fostered/adopted - 1 per child. If you have siblings, each will desire and need their own set. Ideally parents will also have their own sets for modeling.
Once enrolled, we have curb-side pick up, home drop off and USPS for delivery. Additional shipping and handling charges may apply for mailing.
